Valentine’s Day only means one thing: CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE 🍫 Lava cake looks super intimidating but it’s actually so much easier than you think, plus it has minimal ingredients! Alright, if you watched my stories you know I had a minor hiccup BUT I fool proofed the recipe 💃🏼 Whether you’re spending time with your boo, your friends, or yourself today, this makes for the best dessert 😋 Happy Valentine’s Day my friends, I love all of YOU! 💕

Preheat oven to 425°F. Melt the chocolate, either in a microwave or the double boiler method on the stove; doing it over a pot on the stove is easier since the microwave can burn the chocolate. Grease 2 small bowls (I used ramekins) with butter (not the 3 tablespoons) & add a pinch of sugar. In a large bowl, whisk the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs and flour & whisk until completely combined, don’t be afraid about over mixing in this step. Add the melted chocolate SLOWLY, the heat of the chocolate can cook the eggs here so slowly whisk until combined. Place in the oven for 11 minutes; this cooks the cake enough while leaving a chocolate melted center inside. Serve with ice cream, powdered sugar, fruit, or all three.
