My take on the TUNACADO from Joe & The Juice is honestly just as good 🥪🤭 Ever since trying the viral sandwich I’ve been hooked and get it any chance I can. But I wanted to see if I can replicate it at home and did! Joe & The Juice uses a specific type of flatbread that was hard to come across but my hack was to use a whole grain pita pocket cut in half ☺️ They have a spicy tunacado too so I added sriracha to mine but feel free to omit!

cup pesto

slice hass avocado

tbsp mayo

can tuna

tsp capers

tsp sriracha hot sauce

pinch salt

slice tomato

whole wheat pita bread
Cut the pita pocket in half and toast in the toaster oven (if you have a grill pan or panini press you can use this too to get those iconic grill marks!). In a bowl, add a drained can of tuna, mayo, sriracha, capers, and salt and mix to combine. Add a thin layer of pesto on one side of the toasted pita bread and half the tuna on the other. Top with slices of tomatoes, avocado, and optional mixed greens, the original doesn’t have greens but I like any opportunity I get to add some. You can also wrap it in some parchment paper like the real deal and enjoy!View original recipe
