Say hello to your new favorite simple pasta dish: CACIO E PEPE 🍝 It literally translates to cheese and pepper in English and that’s essentially what it’s made from. This entire meal requires just 4 ingredients + reserved pasta water that’s it! I like to think of it as adult mac and cheese 😂 Seriously, impress a date or your friends with this. The reserved pasta water and the cheese makes a delicious “sauce” with no heavy cream required 🤤

What you need
cup pasta water

cup pecorino romano

tsp pepper

tbsp butter
Instructions
bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the spaghetti, cook for 10-12 minutes until almost al dente, we’ll be cooking it for another minute or so in the next steps reserve about 1 cup pasta water right before pasta is done, the starch in it is what we’re looking for drain the pasta, add back to the pot and put on a different burner OFF the heat add the butter and 2/3 cup reserved pasta water and mix add the pepper and cheese until it creates a sauce, adjust water and ingredients to your liking here (if you feel like it needs more cheese go for it) plate it and add additional pepper and cheese for topping, serves 2View original recipe
