Tofu Nuggets

Celebrating the end of the week with these TOFU NUGGETS ✨ I love making healthier swaps for some of my favorite foods and wanted to make a vegan version of nuggets! This is SO easy! It takes less than 30 minutes 🙌🏻 For these, you make a quick liquid batter and a seasoned panko mix for the crust. I made them extra crispy in my air fryer but you can bake them in the oven or pan fry them! Happy Friday y’all! 🤪💃🏼

What you need

firm tofu

tsp onion powder

cup flour

tsp paprika

tsp salt

cup panko breadcrumbs

fl oz olive oil cooking spray

tsp garlic powder
Instructions
Drain the tofu, wrap in paper towels, and add something heavy on top to press the liquid out (use a skillet and leave it for 20-30 minutes). Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add the panko crumbs and half the amount of each seasoning (1/2 tsp garlic, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp salt) and mix. In a separate bowl, add the flour, remaining spices, and mix. Then add the milk slowly, creating a batter which should be like a loose pancake batter consistency. Cut the tofu into cubes and dip into the batter, then into the panko mixture. Spray with cooking oil. Air fry at 400°F for 15 minutes, flipping halfway. The same time and temperature can be used for a standard oven. Serve with ketchup.View original recipe
